Two workshops that are available is a portfolio review and a traditional, gelatin silver printing workshop, working with double weight, fiber paper.
The portfolio review is an informal meeting at cafe in San Francisco. If it is a day and time that is more convenient for me, all I ask for in return is a fancy coffee drink. A more formal portfolio review meeting can also be set up at your request.
The traditional, gelatim silver printng workshop allows the participant an opportunity to learn how to print on fiber paper. This is a flexible, one day session to four day session workshop, depending on what you would like to accomplish. One will learn the ins and outs of setting up and printing in a darkroom - the different types of chemicals, how to mix chemistry, addiing additives to the developer, split developer printing, controling contrast through the developer temperture, enhancing highlights and midtones with potassium ferricyanide selectively and with the whole print, and selenium toning. The goal of this workshop is to create a few, exquisite exhibition prints that you will be able to matt and frame. This workshop will be taught in my my personal darkroom. All chemistry will be provided, however, pariticipants will need to bring their own fiber paper. All participants will be encouraged to learn how to print 8" x 10" prints or larger, up to 20" x 24" The workshop is limited to a maximum of two persons during each session. It is possible to schedule Individual printing time in my darkroom with limited assitance for a reasonable cost. Most workshops and printing times are conducted on Saturdays.
For information about either workshop or specific costs, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and remember to specify which workshop you are interested in. Workshops are available year round depending upon my availabiltiy.
